The Yes on Proposition 15
Campaign Needs You:
Elections Should be Won, Not Bought
Outraged by the amount of money in politics and the recent Supreme Court ruling allowing corporations to spend unlimited amounts on campaigns? We need politicians out of the fund raising game so that they will focus on the priorities of voters instead of their campaign donors.
Proposition 15, the California Fair Elections Act, changes the way we finance election campaigns. It would establish a voluntary pilot project for Secretary of State races in 2014 and 2018 to show that Fair Elections public financing works. Candidates would qualify for limited public funds if they raise a large number of $5 contributions from Californians and agree to strict spending prohibitions.
Prop 15 represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to stop Big Money special interest control of Sacramento after grassroots supporters finally won a six year battle to get it on the ballot.
The grassroots campaign to pass Prop 15 needs your help for June’s election. Your donation will help us print flyers for our thousands of volunteers! Your house party will encourage more Prop 15 supporters! Your phone banking will help us reach absentee voters before they vote!
And join Senator Fran Pavley, Assembly members Julia Brownley and Michael Feuer, Los Angeles City Council Members Paul Koretz and Bill Rosendahl, California Nurses Association co-president Geri Jenkins, RN, and others to learn about Prop 15.
WHEN: Thursday, March 11 from 7pm-9pm.
WHERE: Leo Baeck Temple ; 1300 North Sepulveda Blvd , Los Angeles .
